Beautiful cycling tours through rugged nature and on quiet roads
Fuerteventura is very suitable for a short or longer cycling holiday. The island may not be as well known as for example Mallorca, Lanzarote or Tenerife, but it is the least densely populated of all (7 large) Canary Islands and so you can make beautiful trips on often quiet, good roads.
Because of the very favourable climate, the temperature varies between 20 – 30 degrees throughout the year and it almost never rains, you can actually ride your bike perfectly every day.
Best cycling opportunities
The 4 larger tourist cities of Fuerteventura are located all the way north, on the east coast and all the way south. The middle and west of the island are very sparsely populated and there you will also find the most beautiful nature. The central Betancuria massif runs like a mountain ridge from north to south and dominates a large part of the middle of the island. Here you will not only find beautiful, quiet mountain roads that reach up to about 600 m, towards the west coast there are a number of quiet dead-end roads that only lead to a small village on the coast (and therefore sea level).
Cycling invidivually or in a small group?
Villa Vital offers you the opportunity to explore Fuerteventura by (electrical) bike, individually (or with your partner, friend) or in a small group.
Suggested routes for cycling tours
Villa Vital Fuerteventura is very centrally located on the island. From here you can explore the whole island by day trips. We have about 10 cycling routes available for our guests. Routes vary from 30 to 70 kilometres. We have composed and explored the routes ourselves. We let ourselves be guided by them:
Touring bike rental
In most tourist places you can rent (electric) touring bikes. However, the quality may vary. Don’t always be guided by the cheapest options. Quality costs money.
