Fuerteventura is very suitable for a short or longer cycling holiday. The island may not be as well known as for example Mallorca, Lanzarote or Tenerife, but it is the least densely populated of all (7 large) Canary Islands, so you can make beautiful trips on often quiet, good roads.
Because of the very favourable climate, the temperature varies between 20 – 30 degrees throughout the year and it almost never rains, you can actually ride your bike perfectly every day.
The 4 larger tourist cities of Fuerteventura are located all the way north, on the east coast and all the way south. The middle and west of the island are very sparsely populated and there you will also find the most beautiful nature. The central Betancuria massif runs like a mountain ridge from north to south and dominates a large part of the middle of the island. Here you will not only find beautiful, quiet mountain roads that reach up to about 600 m, towards the west coast there are a number of quiet dead-end roads that only lead to a small village on the coast (and therefore sea level).
So plenty of opportunities to show your climbing skills to your friends.

In most touristic places you can rent racing bikes. However, the quality may vary. Do not always be guided by the cheapest options. Quality costs money.
