Fuerteventura is truly an island of fish. Species that you can only eat here are found here, such as the Vieja and the Sama. Numerous restaurants serve fresh tuna, squid, prawns, prawns, mussels, etc. And of course, paella is not to be missed. So if you love fresh fish, this is the place to be. Often the fish is served with a little salad and papas arrugadas or fries. They also make delicious croquettes from the fish.
The island is famous for its fresh goat products. Did you know that Fuerteventura is home to more goats than people? So they have the tastiest goat cheese according to us and our guests (the one from the farmer in our backyard). You can get this served fresh or fried. The goat meat is also in great demand. Fuerteventura is also a meat island anyway. There is even a liqueur made from goat’s milk!
