Fuerteventura, a paradise for beach lovers
Fuerteventura is known as a true beach paradise. It is not without reason that it is in the top 10 most beautiful beaches of Europe. It has 55 kilometres of pearly white beaches, more than any of the other islands. Beautiful endless pearly white beaches with an azure blue sea, small bays and unique natural swimming pools located in the lava rocks. You will hardly meet anyone else here, except on Sunday afternoons when the Spaniards come en masse. As a beach lover, Fuerteventura is not to be missed.
Paradise on earth
A beautiful endless pearly white beach for sunbathing and long walks can be found between Costa Calma and Jandia on the (south) east coast. It is no less than 20 km long! In the northern part of this, directly under Costa Calma, beautiful sand banks are exposed at low tide. In combination with a clear aqua blue sea, you imagine yourself in paradise on earth.
Another great long sandy beach can be found in the north east of the island, just south of Corralejo. This is part of a nature park with white sand dunes that remind you of the Sahara.
Also on the (south) west coast is a long white sandy beach at Cofete. Unfortunately, it is only accessible via a 16 km unpaved road over the southern mountain range, but this is a good thing. The sea here is not suitable for swimming, but it is suitable for long walks, especially at sunset.

Some beaches are more touristy with the possibility of hiring a bed and an umbrella. Others, like the many private coves, are wonderfully quiet, except on Sunday afternoons when Spaniards flock here to swim and barbecue.
